Frédéric Beausoleil

Managing Director, Investment Banking, Desjardins Capital Markets

Frederic Beausoleil holds an extensive expertise in equity research, proprietary trading and investment banking. Frédéric began his career at Merrill Lynch & Co in New York City, and returned to Montreal to work for RBC Capital Markets as an equity research analyst. He then moved on to other senior positions at National Bank Financial and Laurentian Bank Securities, before joining Desjardins Capital Markets in 2014.

Frederic’s professional practice has a particular focus on emerging issuers, both public and private. His research, trading and investment banking experience covers a wide array of industries. Frédéric is a CFA charterholder and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree from HEC Montréal. He is a member of the Quebec local advisory committee of the TSX Venture Exchange.

 

Jean-Daniel Bélanger

Vice-président, affaires juridiques et secrétaire général

M. Bélanger s’est joint à Neptune Solutions Bien-être, Inc. en novembre 2012 à titre de directeur, affaires corporatives et agit à titre de secrétaire du conseil d’administration depuis juin 2014. Nommé vice-président, affaires juridiques en juin 2017, il est responsable de tous les aspects juridiques et corporatifs de l’entreprise. Finaliste en 2018 pour le prix du conseiller juridique de l’année au Québec dans la catégorie « Sociétés à petite et moyenne capitalisation (PME) », et finaliste lors des Canadian General Counsel Awards en 2015 dans la catégorie Leader de demain, il détient un diplôme en droit de l’Université de Montréal (2005) et est membre du Barreau du Québec depuis 2006. Avant de se joindre à Neptune, M. Bélanger était associé d’un cabinet d’avocats de Montréal spécialisé en valeurs mobilières, où il a pratiqué dans les domaines des fusions et acquisitions, du financement d’entreprises et des valeurs mobilières, ainsi que dans le domaine du droit des sociétés et du droit commercial général.

 

Nicole Blanchard

President at Sun International Communications

Nicole Blanchard, the managing partner of the group, has more than 25 years of technical, financial and analytical expertise in international capital markets. She has a University degree in Sciences (Biology and Geology) and in International Business.  Nicole Blanchard has implemented communication programs for several public companies in North America and in Europe, namely in Telecom (Teleglobe, Carrier One), in Biotechnology (BioChem Pharma, Prevtec Microbia) and in the Resources sector (La Mancha). She acts as the corporate spokesperson to stakeholders, including board members, senior management, investors, debt holders, media and employees.  With the support of an experienced team of professionals and collaborators, Nicole Blanchard manages corporate strategy, capital raising programs, business development and investor relations programs tailored to the industries and sectors of activities of the firm’s clients.

 

Pierre Boucher*

Chairman of Québec Bourse and Partner and Executive Vice-President at MaisonBrison Inc.

For the past twenty five years, Pierre has been involved in various aspects of North American financial markets. He worked for more than 10 years as a financial analyst covering special situations and technology companies. The quality of his work and recommendations were recognized by various institutional investor surveys over the years.  He joined MaisonBrison in 2009 and works with several clients in Canada and in the U.S.  Over the years, he has worked on several IPOs and shareholder activism mandates. Pierre currently serves on the boards of Québec Bourse and CIRI, the Québec Chapter. He also has been involved with la Fondation Montréal inc. and L’Ordre des CPA du Québec.

 

Dr André P. Boulet, Ph.D.

President & CEO of Devonian Health Group Inc.

Dr Boulet has a vast experience in drug development, regulatory affairs, market access, financing and restructuration in the pharmaceutical and biotech fields. Prior to Devonian, he was a managing partner of SIPAR’s biotech unit, a private investment fund investing in Québec based small cap companies. Throughout his career, Dr Boulet acquired an international expertise in drug development, regulatory affairs and health economics within Hoechst Marion Roussel, Marion Merrell Dow Canada and Laboratoires Nordic (Sanofi-Aventis).

Dr Boulet holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Biology from University of Quebec in Trois-Rivieres, a Master’s Degree in experimental medicine/immunology-immunochemistry as well as a PhD in physiology-endocrinology from Laval University in Quebec City. He also did a post-doctorate training at University of Pennsylvania (USA) in biochemistry-biophysics and a training program in Health Economics at York University (UK).

 

Isabelle Cadieux

Investment Manager, SIDEX

Isabelle Cadieux holds a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Ottawa and a Master’s degree in Mineral Exploration (MINEX) from McGill University. She has more than 30 years of experience in mineral exploration and financing in the mining sector. Her experience, across Canada and abroad, includes positions in Saskatchewan, Québec, Ontario, the Northwest Territories and in Burkina Faso and covers a wide range of ore deposit types and mineral commodities, in particular gold, copper, and uranium. From 1992 to 1995, she worked as a consultant, namely for Virginia Mines, providing investor relations and corporate development services.

Mrs. Cadieux is member of the Executive Committee of the UQAT-UQAM Chair in Mining Entrepreneurship and is a member of the Mine d’Avenir committee, as well as co-organizer of the Mining Lunches in Montréal. Throughout her career, she has been involved in various organizations related to the mining sector, among which the Canadian Institute of Mines and Metallurgy (CIM), the Québec Mineral Exploration Association (AEMQ) and Minalliance.

 

Benoit Cyr

Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at BTB REIT

Mr. Cyr is a certified professional accountant (CPA, CA) and he holds a MBA from HEC Montréal. He has a vast experience in the accounting and financial fields within a national accounting firm. Throughout his more than 35-year career, he has held positions such as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Finance and Administration, within several companies, namely, Perfectly Natural Solutions Inc., from 2005 to 2007, Unicel Architectural Inc., from 2004 to 2005, Raymark Xpert Business Systems Inc., from 2001 to 2004 and Elix Inc. from 1997 to 2001. Mr. Cyr also acted as interim Chief Financial Officer of Saratoga Electronic Solutions Inc. (SAR) in 2006 and 2007. Mr. Cyr was a member of the firm Groupe Mallette Maheu, a national accounting and audit firm, for 19 years, eight of which as a partner. Benoit is Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at BTB Real Estate Investment Trust, a reporting issuer listed on TSX since 2007

 

Marie David

Marie David, M.Sc., CPA, CA, has over 12 years of experience at KPMG in auditing small and large private and public companies in a variety of industries including mining, forestry, gas, technology, manufacturing and professional services. She also has extensive experience in accounting support for special transactions, special audits, acquisitions and public issuance documents including an initial public offering.

Marie has been responsible for a number of securities issuance mandates involving the filing of investment documents in recent years. Marie has been named the leader of innovation in audit for KPMG in Quebec due to her unique interest and knowledge of technological tools such as data analysis, artificial intelligence, process automation and blockchain.

Marie is also the treasurer and audit committee chair of the Montreal chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI Montreal).

 

Louis Doyle

Executive Director, Québec Bourse Inc.

Louis Doyle has over 30 years of experience in the capital markets with expertise in operations, management and stock market listing. Since December 2015, Mr. Doyle provides consulting and administrative services to private and public companies through Doyle Gestion Conseils Inc. Since January 2016, Louis Doyle is the Executive Director of Québec Bourse Inc., an association regrouping Quebec based listed companies and other market stakeholders. From 2001 to 2015, Mr. Doyle was Vice President, Montréal, of the TSX Venture Exchange. Until his departure from the TSX Venture Exchange, he was Chair of the Listing Committee, a member of the Policy Committee and also responsible for the TSX Venture Exchange mentorship program at a national level. Louis Doyle is also a Director of Abitibi Royalties Inc., Terranueva Corporation and Mondias Naturals Products Inc.

 

Martin Garand*

Senior Director, Private Equity, Québec, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec

Since 2011, Martin Garand has been Director, Investments, Small-Cap Companies in the Private Equity group at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. In his role, he manages a portfolio of publicly traded Québec companies. Mr. Garand has more than 18 years of investment experience. He has worked at la Caisse since 2006, where he was Financial Analyst, Small-Cap Canadian Equity until 2011. Prior to this, he worked at TAL Global Asset Management and at Montrusco Bolton as a financial analyst in the healthcare sector. Having earned the professional designation of CFA, Mr. Garand has a Master of Finance from HEC Montréal and a Bachelor of Mining Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal.

 

Jean Mayer

General Counsel at Kruger Energy Inc.

Mr. Mayer has joined, in July 2019, the company in support of the company’s business units, management team and board of directors while coordinating the company’s various external legal files. He manages all the legal, regulatory and compliance aspects of the various files of the company, including reorganizations, financing, intellectual property, M&A and major litigation. Mr. Mayer also oversees corporate governance and risk management. Since 1998, Mr. Mayer has accumulated fifteen years of business experience, mainly in the technology and natural resources sectors, and spent a few years in private practice with a major law firm in Montreal.

 

Richard Provencher*

Partner at Stein Monast LLP

Mr. Richard Provencher is the Coordinating Partner of the Securities Law practice group at Stein Monast. Since the start of his career, Mr. Provencher has focused his practice on Securities Law, the purchase and sale of businesses as well as public and private financing. Mr. Provencher represents issuers and brokerage firms in matters such as public and private financing. He also counsels private venture capital funds, advises companies seeking financing and assists these in planning and listing securities on the stock exchange, whether via an initial public offering, a capital pool company, or through a reverse takeover. He also advises public issuers on aspects relating to corporate governance and continuous disclosure. Mr. Provencher is a co-author of the Securities Law volume of the business law collection of JurisClasseur Quebec. He is also guest speaker for the certification in corporate governance program of the Collège des administrateurs du Québec and guest speaker at the Managing a Public Company workshop given by the TSX Venture Exchange

 

Érika Tremblay-Gagnon*

Vice President Corporate Finance for Stingray Group Inc.

As Vice President Corporate Finance of Stingray Group Inc., Ms. Tremblay-Gagnon supervise and directs financial activities related to public reporting, ongoing requirements for Issuers, tax strategy and compliance, consolidation and treasury. Prior to joining Stingray, Erika was Senior Manager in the Audit and Assurance group for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, with 10 years of experience in delivering audit related services to large national and multi-national public corporations. Erika is a chartered accountant, a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Quebec and holds a Master ès sciences in administration from the University of Sherbrooke.
